Project Runway Season 4 Top 5

Next week's episodes will be about the home visits. Emilo and Seth Aron has sure spots for the final 3 and Jay, our kababayan, and Mila will fight for the 3rd spot. But honestly , I dont like Mila's going to compete with Jay. I don't like the outfit she made, nor the stuff she made because they're all colorblocks and sometime they're cute but if you see them often you're going to be bored. The ensemble she made last time is an eyesore. I mean Yellow top and pink bottom. It looks like the disco ball with colors. I hope the judges opted for Anthony. The gown has taste and color, I know that the fabric is not good but the drama and taste is still there.  Emilio's gown is whimsical and elegant. I love the polka dot details at the hemline. Seth Aaron, i love the fact that the look is exaggerated. It's a statement and still has drama into it. Jay Nicolas made a military inspired look. I love the pants ,it looks well made and the jacket is to die for..

I'm hoping that Emilio , Seth Aaron and Jay will be the top 3 finalists. I don't like Mila in it because I'm feeling her collection is about colorblocking....

Summer Looks

If you're still clueless on what to wear for the summer. Here are some suggestions from me. I advice you wear something short, comfy, or some loose, that makes the air come in and out of your stuff. In my point of view, living in a tropical country makes clothing choices to lesser number because we can't just put layers of stuff in our body because it's really. Unless you have a crush at school and you want to impress him/her. Kidding but honestly, you just have to play with colors and the trends for this summer so you won't be left out.

This look is from Lulu. She's wearing a cute patterned dress, layered with denim vest and ,if i'm right, clogs.

It's feminine with the right amount of edgy-ness. 

Here's my take on that :

In order to achieve the lulu look, you have to wear a cute dress, any cute dress that has a pastel color on it and light fabric. Then layered it with a denim vest and sandals, flat ones for me to make it casual and easy. and good accessories to match.

This is my take on the h&m look. I love wearing shorts and though the 2 tops are simple , i put a right amount of accessory. And the shoes must pop so to make it more fun and youthful.

My first runway walk, hopefully not the last

Not many know that I have walked the runway, once. It was last year, around September-October. It was for the Belle De Jour Planner Lauch/Event at Eastwood. I joined in just for fun and I never thought they're going to pick because I'm big and chubby. Everytime , I look at my picture then I feel somehow inferior because it doesn't look good nor it doesn't look bad. But the fact that I'm gaining weight. Not that I care but sometimes I can't hardly breathe and I'm always irritable. But during that walk, i feel like I'm in heaven. I feel like being blessed and God made me feel a girl for that day. During the fittings, I thought nothing is going to fit me but surprisingly there were some ensemble that did work for me.  I really want to be healthy and experience to be light sometimes, I need more self confidence. My mom also reminds me to look at the mirror and see myself and work on some stuff about it because she's worried that my current lifestyle is unhealthy. So i'm trying little by little to diet and control the stuff I eat. Don't blame me because if I'm stressed , I do eat a lot, I mean A LOT. Ask my groupmates and they'll tell you she's eating hour by hour while coding.  So now that there's no reaosn to be stressed about. I plan to lose some unnecessary pounds before the start of my academic year this summer. I'll bike in the morning and in the afternoon. Eat more veggies and fruits than meat and poultry. I want to look good for myself and for me not to get sick again.

Les Misérables

I've finally finished the book last night. I love the story of this novel. I think it's a unique and refreshing , though it's book setting happened in 19th century, might be before the French Revolution. I love the twists and turns of the novel. I'm not really a fan of classic book but this one is an exception. It's like romance, politics, social issues,   and being moral at the same time in one book. I love Jean Valjean. I love that the book is about changing your self. Becoming a good person. Also , how forgiving and non-judgmental  the Bishop is. It's a story that still applies today. I do believe that we all deserve a second chance in life, and this novel is also about it. The role of Javert makes me feel mad at him. Just read the book to know why I hate him. I'll recommend this to my niece to read this.

I'm currently reading Sophie Kinsella's Twenties Girl and I find it amusing and interesting :)

Revamp and Reinvention

If you haven't notice, my blog has a new look and feel. Finally, I've achieved what I want for my blog, thanks to Blogger Draft, it's easy to customize and make the blog me. Especially the background, before I just want a fashion illustration where the girls are walking towards the endpoint of a runway, and this is it. Speaking of revamping , it also tantamount to reinvention. I'm planning to shift to another course by  first term , I don't want to say which course it is but , this time, I'll be pursuing what I really want from the start. It's going to be  stepping stone for my dreams, one of which is becoming a part of the industry that i dream to be in , the Fashion industry.

I've been using the fashion industry as part of my business report stuff at school , on how they operate , the in's and out's of it. The strategies being used. But then I realized , one time that I want more than this then some incident happened that made me go back to this industry . I saw this description of me by one of my classmates in my yearbook, it says there " Maui is someone who has a passion for fashion." It made me see myself that I'm not really happy at my life right because of the course I'm taking. It's been a hell for me. It's not fit for me, especially if some people are really good and it hurts my pride because I've done all my best but ,still, here I am , a mediocre worst a failure to my family.

I dont care what will people say about my decision.It's my life and i'm a designer and director of my life. And only God is my critic. With all of this , I'm planning to reinvent myself also and be a better version of Maureen. So just wait because I'm going to be reaching for my dreams.

Noriter love :D

What is Noriter?
 Noriter is a Korean-themed cafe found across De La Salle University.
Why am I writing about it?

Because I love this place. It's really cozy and relaxing. You'll find art-sy stuff inside the cafe. I love their hot chocolate beverage. Whenever I want to rest or study, I just go to this place and do my business. It has a lot of memories too for me. Anyhoo, I went here , together with my groupmates, to breakout form regular library mode work and just do it there. >.<  I hope you guys will visit this place because it's a nice thing to discover new places and be inspired from it.

Black Saturday

Finally,I can write again. I had a writer's block since last week. Timely for the Holy Week. Anyhoo , last March 27. I had an Intramuros escapade with my friend Ashley. We were there for the Sampaguita (Jasmine) ice cream for her Literature class . Then , we thought of roaming around the walled city. We found some places that are really gorgeous and at the same time historical. I love Casa Manila. It's a restored house from the Spanish Era and The house is really for rich illustrados. The rooms are wide and has good interior design. Unfotunately , we can't take any photos from the inside. Then I also love the graffiti place . I never thought that there would be such place there. Guys, I suggest that you roam around the HIstorical city and think about our dear country.:D
