Retro?

School days are going to start again this May 31st, but mine starts on June 1st because of Tuesday-Thursday, and I haven't planned the stuff I'll be wearing. I mean hello, I only have 2 days of school stuff and I dont want to look dull this upcoming academic year. So I'm planning to buy some fabrics and let someone make me a dress :D.(Will ask some of seamstress to do it perfectly for me). Ad I'm planning to go for skirts :). I mean they're easy to wear and hassle free. I have to wake up early, bathe fast and dress fast and eat breakfast,if I won't do it in fast manner , I might be caught in a traffic jam. Philippine Traffic is one of the worst traffic systems in the world, for me. So dresses and skirts are just easy to get in with. :P
So here's my inspiration for some dresses .

I'm really going for sweet heart neckline and I love this dress because it's really playful and I love the tulle detail underneath it.

My mom really likes me wearing this kind of frock because it makes me look taller and leaner. And I agree with her.:)

I love the Zipper detail of this Urban Outfitter's dress. I need it to have an illusion that I have boobs :))
Same goes for this one.

For the shoes, I'm opting for flats and wedges. So I can freely go to every stuff I need. Shifting papers, work stuff, and acads and possibly SC work.

Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Since yesterday morning, I've been looking and checking the pictures from the Met Gala and I've been looking into the gowns and dresses by the attendees. Some looks are perfect, some are good, some outfits are epic failure. But the following people on their best looks are my favorites :D

I really like J.Lo's gown. It looks so regal and elegant. This gown is designed by Zuhair Muhrad.

This Halston frock for SJP looks good on her. I know that this kind of dress can only rock by some people and SJP is one of them.

Jessica Zhor's look is so dramatic. The mermaid gown suits her very well.

Clair Danes and ,her hubby, Hugh Dancy are both in Burberry. Damn, the gown is lovely. I'm imagining myself wearing that gown. It's really pretty.

Chanel Iman in Michael Kors' Jumpsuit. She really rocked that jumpsuit. Unlike , Tina Fey's jumpsuit look which looks casual for the Met.

Anne Hathaway in a Valentino gown. This is my fave for the event. I love old hollywood look, It's so simple and timeless.

I also love this dress on Nicole Richie. She looks tall and regal. The frock is designed by Marc Jacobs.

So who's your favorite?

Let's go back in time in skirts

There is something about the circa 1940's - 1950's that I love . The fashion that time , for me, is really classic. It celebrate the women's body in a good way. I've read that the fashion during 1940's was greatly influenced by the effects of ww2. It became more conservative and the silhouette is simple, crisp and just the right length of the dress/skirt. Then in 1950's Dior brought in the full skirts.and the usage of different fabrics. It's more feminine and Frivolous. I've observed in certain pictures that the girls are more conservative , primp and proper. I also love how gloves were 'in' that time. I also love how the Hollywood stars dressed-up for those time. It's really something to emulate .

I feel that these girls came from 1940's because of the hemline. As if they're talking about boys here :D

Some gowns from 1940's. I really loved the back design.:D

This is a shot by Jonathan Logan, 1945.

A singer from those days.
I really love this gown. It's simple and elegant.

My first runway walk, hopefully not the last

Not many know that I have walked the runway, once. It was last year, around September-October. It was for the Belle De Jour Planner Lauch/Event at Eastwood. I joined in just for fun and I never thought they're going to pick because I'm big and chubby. Everytime , I look at my picture then I feel somehow inferior because it doesn't look good nor it doesn't look bad. But the fact that I'm gaining weight. Not that I care but sometimes I can't hardly breathe and I'm always irritable. But during that walk, i feel like I'm in heaven. I feel like being blessed and God made me feel a girl for that day. During the fittings, I thought nothing is going to fit me but surprisingly there were some ensemble that did work for me.  I really want to be healthy and experience to be light sometimes, I need more self confidence. My mom also reminds me to look at the mirror and see myself and work on some stuff about it because she's worried that my current lifestyle is unhealthy. So i'm trying little by little to diet and control the stuff I eat. Don't blame me because if I'm stressed , I do eat a lot, I mean A LOT. Ask my groupmates and they'll tell you she's eating hour by hour while coding.  So now that there's no reaosn to be stressed about. I plan to lose some unnecessary pounds before the start of my academic year this summer. I'll bike in the morning and in the afternoon. Eat more veggies and fruits than meat and poultry. I want to look good for myself and for me not to get sick again.

Fashion has been one of my stress relievers. If i had a bad day . i’m just going to look at fashion magazines or style.com and i’m almost relieved from the pain and madness i’m feeling.

Starting by today i want to start making fashion blogs and make reviews about it. Just for fun.:P

First off is

Nicolas Ghesquière of Balenciaga.

The designs are mostly street-chic fashion. You can see at his designs that it is very architectural. In one of the photos there’s this uber edgy hoodie and i see myself wearing it:)) hehe anyway enjoy :P
