Making a simple short and shirt look elegant

First, I've started this thread at Candymag's Teentalk Forum. It's about giving girls (and boys) some fashion emergency fixes. And I like to share it here in my blog.
So here's her question
So answering this question, honestly, was quite hard because I'm not sure what is the color or the fabric or if it's made of jeans. So here's my answer to her question.

"Hey, about that if you're referring to the shorts in a light blue color (i'm not pretty sure on how they called that type of wash on the jeans fabric) and shirt as in simple plain colored shirt. You can never go wrong with adding strands of pearls as your necklace and wearing a pair pearl earrings. Wear shoes that are solid in color, if you're really going to the elegant look . Then a simple head band to complete the look. You can also put on a blazer for added 'wow' effect."

Here's the example that I made for her.

For those who the same sentiments about looking elegant, here's my point of view. Keep the look simple and tasteful. In this example, we all know we can't easily pull of an elegant look for jean shorts because it looks to casual or if you use it in a wrong way, it'll look sloppy or slutty or just plain ordinary. But putting a minimal amount of accessories and blazer for a cover up. It changes the whole look.  But also partner it with proper manners and decorum.

If you have fashion emergency drop by my thread and post your questions. I'll be glad to help:)

Dare to Flare ?

I've been following style.com since last year. I've been reading about style updates and what's hot and not in the fashion industry. It's fun reading articles not only about fashion but art and lifestyle as well. So now, they've posted about skinny jeans nearing its end in the fashion scene and hello to flare silhouettes. I believe that this look is refreshing but I think that only few body types can wear it , so I don't believe that skinnies will be out , but we'll see what happens in the coming months. Body types that can wear these are those who are tall and ,some curvy people. If a petite person will wear it , there's a probability that she might look smaller unless she has good style sense that can make her stand out.  Anyhoo here are some runway photos that I like that exhibits the flares.

R-L(Chloe, Derek Lam, Emilio Pucci)
I love the Chloe flares. It reminds me of the 70's. It looks clean and sophisticated.
The Derek Lam's is for the corporate chic but I love the flared pants it's edgy and can be paired with a lot of tops.
Emilio Pucci's design is more for the fashionistas that are not afraid to be noticed. The pants are cute but you have to be confident and sassy to don those pants.
I've created my own version of the look :D

So are you lovin' the look or not?
Are you ready to rock those outfits?

I love this first look:D I'm inlove with corsets, It is sexy with a touch of being sophisticated. She's not trying hard to make someone look/like/lust over her :))

To be honest I'm not lovin' all those harem pants but this one made me think twice :D.
For me harem pants makes buts go bigger but i guess with proper styling and confidence it's a good way to go.

comments are highly appreciated :D

My Interesting Finds

Here's Melisa , remember her from my previous post , I like how she put some color to her outfit. It's not dull and boring. Her shirt is really eye catching. Her flats are also interesting. The shoe looks  like the colorful mat (banig).

This is Nynke Sarmiento. Aside from the gorgeous name of hers , I love this look because it's sporty and it has character into it. I've asked her top 3( but 2) accessories and she answered , her black wooden rosary and the 'baller'. It is because those 2 were given by her boyfriend. How sweet , noh? :D

This is Murphy Katigbak. At school , she's like a sister to me. I really love her style. It's very 80's but with a touch of the present time. I love how casual this look it is. It's simple but a head turner.

Ok , when I saw this girl , I said to myself I should feature her in my blog. She's Alexis Lao. Why? Because her style is really street. I can't think of anyone who can pull this outfit altogether. She said that her style is inspired from Japanese Pop culture. And we all know how fashionable Japanese people are. Her jeans and top were from Thailand,Boots and bag  were from Hongkong .

Due to boredom and being patient...

My friend introduced me to this site named Polyvore. It's a site where I can make my own 'set' of clothes and layout them just like in the fashion magazines. It's really fun and addictive. You guys should try it too.

Disclaimer my polyvore sets were envisioned by me wearing them :)) . It's like my virtual closet :))
______________________________________________________________________
The first thing that I really loved was this set.
I love wearing shorts because it makes feel  comfy then I mixed it up with the brown booties to make itlook edgy yet casual.

The second set was for a school girl me. A preppy Maureen. I hope I'm not that fat so i can wear these :))

Lastly. It was inspired from Blair Waldorf. I've imagined her in a summer getaway . And , I think she'll wear this for one of those days.

You  should try polyvore. It's really fun to do haha
